Six Degrees of Separation

Six Degrees of Separation

I am in the "Process + Material" exhibit at Hedge Gallery in Cleveland Ohio that opens this Friday.
One of my entries is the above work consisting of 95 tea bags which contain portraits that have been transferred to them.  The tea bags are used and therefore stained with a great patina.

Six degrees of separation is the theory that everyone and everything is six or fewer steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person in the world, so that a chain of "a friend of a friend" statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six steps.
(definition from Wikipedia)
Take a close look...maybe you will see someone you know!

  1. I like the mix of tangible process and traditional materials with a concept that seems ever more present considering social media today! I hope I may catch a chance to see this in person, as I've been wanting to visit Hedge again. -Your "cousin".
